Zondervan The Fall of Candy Corn - eBook

Halloween time at The Zone means monsters, mazes, and plenty of candy corn. Candace is shy about telling friends at church that she's working as a maze monster. However, when she discovers her youth group has planned an outing to the park, her embarrassment quickly turns to stage fright!
Will Candace survive the shift from cotton candy to candy corn? Fall is in the air, and without completely knowing why, Candace Thompson has signed up to continue what was supposed to be a short-term summer job at the local theme park. Working with Kurt doesn't hurt, but a surprising kink involving her youth group, as well as the shock of an unexpected setback, threaten to be more painful. Candace's autumn holds as many surprises as her summer as her rousing romp through the seasons continues.

Review: The Fall of Candy Corn - Sweet Seasons Novel Book #2 - Debbie Vigiue - October 2008
Wanting a teen novel that is fun and sweet at the same time and I mean not just sweet in the sugary way of candy and amusement parks ? As like most Christian teenage fiction, they tend to be very light and fluffy novels with no sex etc , not like some of the worldly teen fiction but in saying that , they do touch base on relationships, silly boys and the occasional violent episode as we discover in the Fall of Candy Corn. We are reunited with Candace from The Spring of Cotton Candy where she is preparing for the Halloween shift at work - at "The Zone" - Halloween means the opening of a new theme called "the Scare" . This year, after an episode ended with Candy being locked in the park and her being scared out of her wits , a new ride has been erected and Candace is playing herself - Candy (the scared and screaming girl). However , somebody at the park is taking Halloween to a whole new level as the park staff and attendees end up being involved in accidents . Has somebody got a vengeance against the park owner John Hanson or has somebody gotten a bit too much into the Halloween spirit ? Read as Candace comes to the rescue once again and read as she also tries to juggle boyfriend problems , friendships and the daunting idea of COLLEGE and her FUTURE ?
All this and more fun in The Fall of Candy Corn.....

The Fall of Candy Corn is a wonderful follow-up to this clever series about a girl named Candace who works at an amusement park as seasonal help. We find Candace applying to work over Halloween in one of the "haunted mazes". She gets hired and is getting reacquainted with her fellow employees when it starts looking like the mazes (and the park) really are haunted... Can she save her job? Can she save the park? What a fun way to find out - grab a copy of this book!

This book was even better than the first one in the series. I really liked how Candace has really changed from the first book. She now is one of the regulars and she fits in with almost everyone. She's grown up quite a bit as she's more willing to help out others. She even gives up her free time to plan the dreaded Sugar Shock event and recruits others to join her. It's quite a nice change from the indecisive snobby girl from the first book. Her relationship with Kurt is growing also in this book. While he's a nice guy, I personally prefer Josh myself. I'm hoping that somehow him and Candace might end up together. Tamara is a much better character in this story. I was pleased to see her generosity put to good use in regards to the youth group's trip. This story really made me want The Zone to exist in real life. It would be so awesome to go visit and scare myself silly throughout the park. There's some scary events that take place in the park which would have freaked me out but Candace takes them in stride. Her job is way cool and I totally envy her. This book is a fun, quick, hip read that teens will love. I am dying to read the next book in the series. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite YA series ever.
