Tyndale House #8: The Mark--The Beast Rules the World

His Excellency Global Community Potentate Nicolae Carpathia is back, this time as Satan. Resurrected and indwelt by the devil himself, the beast tightens his grip as ruler of the world. Terror comes to believers in Greece as they are among the first to face a GC loyalty mark application site. The gloves are off, as the forces of good and evil begin a battle for the very souls of men and women around the globe. A repackage of the eighth book in the New York Times best-selling Left Behind series.

This is my favorite of the Left Behind series. It really makes you think about your faith and how far you would go to to defend it. The series overall is really fast paced and interested. I enjoyed it overall -you get very involved with the characters. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick read.

This eighth book in the best-selling Left Behind starts out sizzling as Carpathia, now know as Satan (the Beast) basks in the worship of his subjects. Trib Force member David finds a delighted surprise as he is attended to medically, to find out one of the nurses is a believer and becomes a new TB member. Nicolae Carpathia’s identity is confirmed to the team as the Antichrist by Chaim, even as the world is fawning over the Beast’s seemingly amicable nature. The lone rogue in Trib Force yet to be converted, Hattie, remains the focus of much prayer for her salvation, even as God delights answering that prayer. Tsion begins to teach believers via the Internet, and the Trib Force is graced to find a way to use fake biochips in lieu of receiving the official ‘Mark’. All peoples start their quest towards Jerusalem towards the showdown of their lifetimes.
This was a book I reviewed for Tyndale House Publishers.

So Nicolae is back- raised from the dead and now the world is good and ready to bow down to him. Most of the world, anyway. For the Tribulation Force, life continues to become harder as they resist Carpathia's "one world" religion and government...and the mark that all people must receive to buy or sell. Resistance means death.
So now we'reto the point where things are really getting bad. And stressful. Of course, if you've gotten this far in the Left Behind series, The Mark won't be much worse for the characters than in the other six books. But be prepared anyway!

Chaim's eyes are exposed to the truth. Plans are being set to administer the chip consisting of a mark proving complete loyalty to Carpathia will be embedded under the skin of the right hard or in the forehead of his followers. His followers will then be able to buy and sell. Those who oppose the mark will be destroyed. David, a part of Carpathia's payroll and a believer, is worried about his and his fellow believers lives. More people come to have the mark of God on their foreheads opposing Carpathia's plan.
My favorite in the series to date promises action and suspenseful twists and turns. I felt that the dialogue and scene worked well and as the books before this this one also introduces new characters that I was able to connect with. The overall message was inspiring and I was again challenged in my faith. I was highly entertained and found the pages going by quickly as I was so immersed into the storyline. Highly recommend!

"The Mark" is the eighth in the series of fiction books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins chronicling the events that take place in the world during the end times. The books follow several main characters as they fight for their lives and for their faith as the world makes its way to the last days.
In this book, Nicolae Carpathia (indwelt by Satan) has set himself up as Supreme Potentate of the Global Community, and he commands that everyone is to worship him. The people of the world will be required to receive a mark to signify their loyalty; those without the mark will be executed.
The line has been drawn between believers and those who are loyal to the CG, this time with a requirement. Believers all over the world flee for their lives as the Great Tribulation is ushered in.
This book was by far my favorite one in the series. The world is beginning to see just how ruthless Nicolae is, and for those taking the mark, there is no turning back. I was especially intrigued with the plot that surrounded Chang Wong, a believer working in Nicolae’s palace. The Tribulation Force is now truly in a battle for the souls of the world.
This series of novels is a fictionalized account of the events of the end times. I enjoyed the whole series. While this book is geared towards Christians, there is enough action and depth to it that should appeal to all. The characters are well done, and it is easy to follow the many plots that are going on within these books.

Satan is now in full control of the Antichrist, and he is demanding loyalty from all on the earth. Global Community Loyalty Mark Application Sites start popping up, and there is a deadline to receive the loyalty mark, known in Bible prophecy as the Mark of the Beast. Thos who choose not to receive the loyalty mark are sent to the Loyalty Enforcement Facilitators, which are nothing more than guillotines. It’s take the mark, or lose your head as Bible prophecy continues to come to life. Million line up to take the mark, while believers go deeper into hiding. One believer must deal with the results of being forced to take the mark against his will.
What’s great about these books is that, though there are many, the sub-plots never get confusing or overbearing. You get to follow several of the characters from their points of view without ever feeling lost. The characterizations are wonderful. They come to life so easily that you will have no trouble feeling for them, or hating them in some cases. This is probably one of the most important pieces of literature for the Christian world, but the truth is, even without that stamp of importance, it’s great literature! This is a great story with great characters, and everyone should read it

The entire Left Behind Series is amazing. By the time you get to this book, the characters feel like people you know and it is really hard to put this one down. This part of the story deals with the mark of the Anti-Christ who is in control of the world and quickly deals with anyone who disagrees. The Christians who decide to not take the mark are beaten , put in jail, shot and even led to the guillotine for their disobedience to the devil's wishes. The choice is difficult because the mark allows you to buy food, drink, work and just survive but to take it sends you to hell with the devil. The book really forces you to deal with the truth of God's word and the truth of the book of Revelation. Amazing!
