Arranged by classification order, animals are divided into the distinctions given in Genesis--wild animals, livestock and "creatures that creep." We are studying this with my 9 year old and 6 year old this year. Both are enjoying this book in different ways. The younger loves looking at all the beautiful pictures and being a "big girl" in using her work book. The elder is enjoying the book so far (we are only 2 chapters in). She keeps asking for her science, so it must be good.
Love the way this book and others in the series point back to God as the creator and sustainer of the universe and all it's creatures.
Beautiful layout, easy to read, lovely to look at. We don't hurry through these books. We sit and relax and enjoy the wonders of God's world.

This is the second book that we purchased from the Apologia series. They're not just ordinary science book. We like it because it's written from biblical perspective.

Jeannie Fulbright has a knack for grabbing and holding my son's attention. The beautiful photos and interesting facts keep him coming back for more. He is always referring to the book or telling about animal facts in great detail. Great book! Time to order the next book in the series.

This is the seventh book I have bought from the Apologia series. They are all well written and full of information presented in a way to keep my children interested. I especially appreciate the Christian perspective. I will definitely continue to use this line of science books.

I used this book in a homeschool co-op class that I taught. I loved it and so did the kids! It kept the children engaged and they retained lots of facts. We did not do all of the activities suggested, but did many of them, and made our own, too. I am definitely sold on using Apologia science from now on.

My sons love "doing" science each day. This program draws them in and captures their attention. I find it easy to adapt it to the various ages, simply by requiring different things from each son. Even the preschoolers get excited about science!

I am in my second year homeschooling my 3 younger sisters-in-law. They are in the 6th and 3rd grades. I wanted something we could do together, and that would actually teach them. I felt their former curriculum was sub-par and I wanted to capture their scientific imaginations. They are avid animal lovers, so this was a great book to start with.
We're nearly finished and we've all enjoyed every bit of it. There are some animals included which I'd never heard of, so I'm learning right along with them. I also love that there's access to a course website and further information.
We're trying to play catch up in their grade levels, so we've divided the reading portion into very doable 3 day segments, the questions and projects in another, and one day is set aside for the weekly experiments. This will enable us to do 2 books this school year. I'm going to definitely order another of this series for them!

I love Apologia Science and this so far is our favorite! The frequent 'creation' emphasis and Scripture references coupled with very sound science information makes learning about land animals VERY interesting! The pictures are amazing too! There will be no-one NOT pleased with this book! It has every piece of info you would need to learn about Land Animals of all kinds!!
