I have read the Bible for over thirty years. I have read many translations and I have to say this translation (NLT) is up there with all the best. It is easy to read, accurate, and the commentaries, references, the size of print are great. I like the fact that everything is laid out in the order that it happen in Bible history, especially in the book of Acts and the writings of Paul.
I also have to add this final note. I have dealt with Christian Books for years and I must say they are very reliable. Product is delivered on time and if you need a replacement it is delievered very fast.

First of all, I would highly recommend this Bible, however, if you are older or have trouble seeing smaller print, I advise you to order a magnifier for the study notes & helps. The regular print is not a problem at all but for me I need a magnifier plus reading glasses to see the study helps.
The NLT is one of my favorite translations that make reading the Bible much easier to do. I have a few different NLT Bibles and this one is my favorite. There are gorgeous, colorful pictures, maps, and charts...many interesting features in this Bible. I ordered the brown with mahogany stripe and it is soft, supple, and very nice to hold. This Bible would be a great gift to a teenager as it will have a lot to draw them in and keep their interest besides being easy to follow. I hope they come out with a large print of this so I can give this one as a gift and order a larger print for myself. I do wish Tyndale would wrap their Bibles in plastic as I received this one with some scratches on the gold gilding and a couple bent pages.

I own many study Bibles and have been priviledged to help in critiqing 2 different study Bibles before they went to market. This Bible is one of my favorites ever. The features are easy to use and very informative. It is perfect for a new Christian that has just started studying God's word. It is also wonderful for those who have studied for years. The NLT is new to me this year and is quickly becoming a favorite. It is a good honest translation that is easy to read and comprehend.

I had tried one of these Bibles before; didnt take the time/effort to learn to use its' features and sent it back. I decided to try one again; Im glad I did. This chronological Bible is MUCH easier to use, with more features, than the NKJV Chronological Bible. The NLT version has become my favorite reading version, and that adds to this Bible's usability. I highly recommend it.

It's hard to know where to begin with this review. I've been purchasing Study Bibles and Bible study resources in general now for almost 25 years. As a follower of Jesus Christ and a pastor I would have to rank the Chronological LASB as one of the best investments any believer could make. "Jam-packed" is how one reviewer described it, and that's almost an understatement! The only feature I would have liked to have seen kept from the original LASB is the cross-referencing system, but with all that you get I really don't know how else one could improve on this Study Bible, it's that good. Tyndale should be commended for all the time spent in prayer, planning and developing this product. It's truly a labor of love that brings honor to the name of Christ.
Some quick details about this Bible:
1) The NLT is clear, easy to read and accurate. I'm an NIV man myself who uses the NASB for in-depth word study, but the NLT is fun to read and encourages reading in large portions. I'm impressed with the NLT's fidelity to the original text and the world-class team of Evangelical scholars who had a hand in its development. By far the best translation for a new believer.
2) The leather like format is beautiful! I purchased the brown/tan and just love the feel and look. Unlike the hardcover this version will lay flat without being damaged and holds really well in one's hands.
3) The font size and color is a bit larger and darker than the original LASB (at least the 2004 edition that I own). It is also NOT a red-letter edition (thank you Tyndale!). The rich full-color interior, attention to detail and attractive layout makes you want to dive right in and start reading. I'm still scratching my head as to how they got such gorgeous map colors without bleeding through the other side of the page. The Chronological LASB is truly a technical marvel.
4) Love the chronological system! The Bible is divided into 10 sections, and right now I'm reading through section #8 (Return & Diaspora 538-6 BC) which combines a portion of 2 Chronicles 36 with Ezra, Psalms 126 & 147, Daniel 10-12, Haggai, Zechariah and Esther, then over to 1 Chronicles, Joel and Malachi. You get a much better grasp and flow of biblical history reading the Bible this way. Each section has an introduction, timeline of biblical and world history, articles on the people and culture, megathemes, maps, charts and archaeological notes and photos. Parallel passages are noted, for example 2 Chronicles 36:22-23 and Ezra 1:1-11.
5) Full-color maps in the back include a bibilcal calendar that correlates Hebrew, Babylonian and modern calendar systems with the feasts of Israel. It also includes the same great LASB notes which I have found personally enriching and extremely helpful when it comes to sermon prep.
6) The back of the Bible has the same dictionary/concordance, but also includes a Christian worker's resource (How to become a Christian, do follow-up with a new believer, answer key questions about the Christian faith, apply the Bible), all 66 LASB book introductions including the "blueprint" and "megathemes" for each book, and a master index to all the notes, charts, maps, archaeological notes, illustrations and personality profiles.
7) A canonical table of contents at the front of the Bible allows the reader to look up passages that are separated chronologically. For example, Ezra 4:1-5 is on p.1157, 4:6 on p.1181, and 4:7-23 on p.1194.
I believe the Chronological LASB to be one of the most amazing resources a Christian could ever hope to own, and all for the price of a few Starbucks coffees. Incredible. My heart is full of thanks to God for such accessibility to His Word, and also to Tyndale Publishers. I will treasure this Bible and use it for many years to come.

This is a beautiful Bible with so many helps. I am reading a chapter a day, reading all the helps that go along with the chapter and writing my thoughts and feelings in my journal to personalize the chapter. I also find the New Life Translation flows easily yet still sounds like Scripture.

I got this chronological Bible because many times I tried to read chronologically following some guide but didn’t work. As I looked for one, I have some restrictions about some publishers. When I found this one by Tyndale House and a different version from the ones I have, I decided to purchase it. Usually I don’t look at introductions but I thought that reading it must give me some guidance what to expect and how to follow. I like very much that they claim doing their best but knowing that in some instances they could have made a mistake and also that this was not a substitute for the book by book Bible. I also like the direct application to the reader.

The feature that makes the Chronological Life Application Study Bible stand out among others is it's insistence on making the reader aware of the chronology behind the passage under study. On every page at the top is a consistent timeline of biblical history from creation to the spread of Christianity. This contextualizes the story during the whole reading experience. The specific area covered by the passage is also highlighted on the timeline that is consistent, page after page throughout the Bible. This is a tribute to discipleship materials.

This Bible has extra notes, outlines, excerpts that assist with study and some illustrations. When first received I tried to locate a chapter in Psalms that I couldn't find...then I remembered this bible is in Chronological order, in the front of the bible it tells you where to find every book your looking for. A handy tool if you want to know the order in which events occurred.

This is a great study Bible and it looks nice. I got the brown leather with the reddish brown stripe and I love it. If you're looking for a good study Bible, I think you will be happy with this one.

This bible is an excellent study bible, and it serves the bible teacher well. The chronological layout, combined with the wonderful Tyndale Life Application notes makes this production a valuable asset to the Christian. However, I have one complaint: The bible does NOT contain a recommended annual reading plan! I was very surprised to see that it was omitted, and I hope that Tyndale officials will consider producing an annual reading plan for it. God Bless Tyndale Publishers for their dedicated work in the Lord!
