I am so pleased with this book. The condition I received it in was wonderful. But more than that, the "condition" of the subject was exactly what I was looking for. The description is quite accurate of what this book entails. I am in the midst of reading it with my 13 year old daughter. We have had such wonderful discussions. I wasn't given the "keys" to femininity and grace during that crucial time in my life but thankfully God blessed my ignorance. However, I want to impart all that He has for my daughter(s) so that they won't have to figure it out like I did. This book will be a tremendous asset.

This book has beautiful language that helps girls age gracefully into womanhood. It is best done with mother reading it to daughters so that explanations and discussions can take place. I highly recommend it.

I was astonished to find a lot of answers to questions my six year old daughter asks in this book. I make the answers age appropriate, however, she truly gets a clear picture with the writers' stories and analogies. My little girl loves stories. I take daily lessons from each chapter I read and apply them to her character development. Girls are becoming more inquisitive at younger ages. With Scriptures from the Bible readily available, I can teach my girls how to carry themselves as ladies. How important it is not to follow the world's views on womanhood. It's never too early for parents with daughters to pick up this book and read it. It will prepare you for raising strong, thoughtful, courteous, and obedient girls.

Having an older daughter (age 21) I thought I remembered what it is to raise a young lady. I thought this book probably would be a refresher course for me. I was surprised! My 2nd daughter only 9 1/2 was becoming a young lady before I realized. This was a wonderful way to talk casually with her regarding how I had felt as a young girl. I forgot how to think about these things. This was a way I could read ahead and decide if she was ready and then talk about them as I was remembering my own childhood transition. I almost lost this wonderful opportunity. She was ready for some but not all.Using the Companion Guide along with the book, gave some wonderful jumping off points. I am not always able to put thoughts into practical applications, Mrs. Noonan knows what it is to talk about and teach in a personal way. I highly recommend using the bible scripture activities in the companion guide. I was able to turn it into a mommy-daughter time that helped my daughter talk about what she had been thinking as well as the book time. For me, I appreciated the books for articulating exactly what motherhood is. Many times I get overwhelmed by the logistics of how to run my house and forget "why". How many of our daughters know what it is to "act" like a mother, but not sure why it is important as a God-given joy and responsibility. This was a good book to use in pieces and choose what was right for the time and what to save for later. I am so glad I took the time to treasure these rare days with my daughter

Are you looking for a book to give you guidance, as your daughter grows, matures, and changes? Then you’ve found the right one for this generation and the next. Each chapter is thoughtful and insightful. I especially like the one of the “Quiet Hour”. In this chapter it clearly spells out that it’s okay to take a break. Society is always in a hurry. Always busy. Always doing. Society is also in a constant state of change. Whatever happened to modesty, humility, kindness, and self-control? The Bible is our utmost authority on everything. However thanks to the words in this book I feel better equipped to come alongside my daughter(s) and help them become the women whom God would have them to be.

This book is best when mom and daughter read it together. Some of the concepts are excellent for starting conversation, and a younger girl might need help understanding the vocabulary and choice of phrasing. My oldest daughter read this book as a preteen, and it helped create positive thoughts about embracing her womanhood, but not too early. The analogy of the rose blooming in its correct season as opposed to blooming too early and then fading due to regrets (baggage) impacted her. We are now using it with an all girl Sunday School class, using some of our own creativity to create handouts. I have never seen the companion guide, so I cannot speak to that, but the book itself is excellent.

I really wanted to love this book, and as an adult I found it charming and the ideas wonderful. However, it lost my daughter with the first chapter, when the author says how easy everything is for a girl. For my 10 year old daughter, with Aspergers, nothing has come easily. Childhood looks easy from the perspective of adulthood, but it's not. My daughter found the tone a touch condescending, and I have to concur.

My mother gave this book to me when I was a young teenager. I have read it through several times and plan to hand it down to my own daughters once they are older. The teachings on purity, modesty, and Biblical femininity are timeless and so very relavent in this day and age.

This has been an encouragement to me, and has been great to use as a devotional book with the Jr. High and High School girls I am in contact with.

I loved the book Beautiful Girlhood. I like modesty, purity, and watching your tongue.Modesty is not showing off or drawing attention to yourself by stuff on the outside. You're most attractive with modesty.Purity is keeping your heart clean. Purity keeps you ready for the person you're going to marry.Watching your tongue means saying things that are nice, not mean. Mean words will not make friends. Mean words will make it hard to get married because no one will want to be around you. The book Beautiful Girlhood teaches that if you trust in God, He will help you live a beautiful life and you will be blessed.
