There are a few good illustrations and scenes in the film. However, along with the romance interest mentioned in another review, I thought the movie also portrayed Jesus as often being unsure of Himself and emotionally unbalanced. The actor that plays Jesus (and bears an uncanny resemblance to Jeff Bridges) is very good, but a lot of the film is outside the Gospels fantasy creation. For example, when Satan shows up in a three piece suit and transports Jesus to an everybody dies World War One combat scene. I would recommend the film "The Gospel of John". It is first rate and you can't go wrong with a word for word Gospel portrayal.

Very good movie. The character who played Jesus was good, although he didn't appear as divine as I imagine the real Jesus did. Also felt there were some liberties taken, such as suggesting that Mary and Jesus were in love.

I was very surprised to find that Jesus and Mary (Martha's sister) are protrayed as having feelings for each other. Mary hoping to marry Him? The Bible is clear about Jesus being Martha AND Mary's Lord and Savior. Jesus being a man in the flesh was SINLESS, loving all whom He came to save. Jesus is GOD! He knew what He was sent from heaven to do! I was very dissappointed to see the movie misrepresenting the Word of God!
