MimiHouston, TXAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Healing ExperienceJanuary 24, 2011MimiHouston, TXAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Have you ever known "something" was standing in the way of your relationship with your Heavenly Father and that you had tried all the "remedies" recommended by ministers, counselors, Christian authors, and other trusted authorities-- including repentance, meditation, obedience, faith, etc.-- and still felt yourself falling shorter and shorter of His glory until you were about ready to give up?
While the things listed above are right and proper, sometimes the answer isn't to be found there but in coming to terms with the fact that one's important relationship with her earthly father is having a negative impact on one's relationship with God. "Do You Love Me, Daddy?" is NOT a "how to" book and I don't think it's intended to be. Instead, it is a series of stories about real women and their real dads. As a result, it acts as a mirror in which a woman seeking truth about herself can see herself in someone else's experiences and receive the healing touch of God. The Bible teaches that sin loves the dark because there it has power. When the issues of the heart are brought into the light of God's love, healing can take place.
I would highly recommend this book to any woman who wants to grow in the LORD. While many of the stories speak to difficult circumstances in the lives of the women who share their stories, there are those who share the positive ways in which their dads have enriched their lives. Furthermore, the authors constantly point the way to our Heavenly Father, Who is the One Who seeks our hearts and desperately wants to hide us under His wings. This book will not be an easy read for some, but it can be a worthwhile read for all.
I will even be so bold as to recommend this book to dads who may be having difficulty relating to their daughters. Perhaps hearing the tales of "other's" daughters, ones not so close, can help some men gain a new perspective and provide ideas for building better relationships with their own offspring. -
redheadhockeymomZillah, WAAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful resource!January 24, 2011redheadhockeymomZillah, WAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book is a wonderful resource! The authors provide a clear journey from wounded girl to restored woman. They cover 'reality check' through forgiveness. The do have a chapter on sexual abuse that is well written, but you might want to have a teenage reader skip if that is not an issue they deal with. I was pleased with the biblical principle base. I can recommend this book without reservation as a guide to restoration for hurting women.

Beth Huff5 Stars Out Of 5August 28, 2008Beth HuffThis is one of the best books I have ever read that deals with the issues of dysfunctional, abusive and/or absent fathers. It is practical, balanced, and it gives women freedom to honestly admit their hurts while encouraging them to forgive at the same time. They do an excellent job of maintaining the standard of Biblical truth. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone who doubts their Heavenly Daddy could love them because they were never sure their earthly Daddy did.

LolaAZAge: 18-24Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5March 5, 2012LolaAZAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4This book has been pretty difficult to read due to the emotional level involved. Though this book has led me to a sense of healing. I know that healing cannot be done in just a few days or hours or one book. Though a book can help the process and this one definitely did.
