Writing Strands has helped thousands of homeschooled children to effectively write and communicate in the "real world" as well as their academic lives. Arranged from easiest to hardest, the exercises can be used at whatever level your child is at, for however long you feel that it's necessary--or as long as you both want to! From making up words to finishing sentences and stories, rhyming, discussing stories, visualization and other simple games and activities, your children will be encouraged in a love of language and reading. CD included. 27 pages, softcover, spiral bound.

This book is really intended for child who are just beginning to speak through about pre-school. I bought it thinking I could use it with my kinder, and she really is already outgrown the content.
I am using the Level 3 with my boys and they really enjoy it. So I purchased this, hoping it would be a fun book to work through together.
The book is made up of ideas to help creatively develop your child's language, and use of imagination through language.
Book in the write hands this could be a very fun tool, we just were beyond that point.
My other negative, because I am a visual person, is that the adult would read through this to learn and then go and institute the activities with their child. I wanted something slightly scripted to help me get going, and this wasn't quite that.
Also the CD wasn't really helpful. I didn't listen to it all, but believe it was mainly the Author speaking to the parents, rather than something fun for the kids to listen to.
