We, as Christians, are to follow in the footsteps of our Master; as Christ suffered, so must we. Since suffering is inevitable in a Christian's life, the mature Christian will prepare to meet suffering head-on so that, when it comes, he might, by God's grace, grow through it while understanding it is by God's hand and to His glory. A Place For Weakness by Michael Horton is just such a book.

This is not a book of comfort or one designed to bring peace in the midst of fire. It is, rather, a very wise look at suffering that is designed to enable us to go through the fire intact and trusting God. Though we can never know exactly why things happen as they do, we can trust in the goodness and mercy of the One Who allows them to happen in such a way. A Place For Weakness examines the Biblical text as it relates to suffering and the providence of God and enables the reader to come to knowledge and understanding of such.

This book would be useful for counselors, ministers and Bible teachers but it's message is also one that is worth sharing with any Christian who desires to know the Who behind the "why?". I highly recommend it.
