Both the "Nelson Bible Maps and Charts" and "Tyndale's Handbook of Bible maps and Charts" are great -- good overviews and especially for handouts in class. Both have a couple of major weaknesses.
The Nelson book does not have an index. Tyndale's does.
Although Nelson's chart on Acts acknowledges the power and expansion of the New Testament church, it does not refer to the church's beginning. Tyndale's is a glaring omission.
Neither have a focus on becoming a Christian, the most important answer to the question, "How does one become a Christian?" Acts chapter two is about the beginning of the church and how one receives the forgiveness of sins, thereby restoring fellowship between the sinner and God. Neither book includes charts or even a sentence on either of these most important points.

Love this book. I teach Sunday School and I'm a visual person. It gets confusing when they move from place to place in the bible, so I can print out a map and write on it, blow it up and make everyone understand the distance and route the people took in the lesson. Each book of the bible has megathemes, topics in the book, events as well as maps and diagrams. Wonderful book, use it all the time. CD is very valuable, a littel tricky enlarging something, but you can.

This book is like a mini commentary with charts, maps, megathemes, and topical index. Pages to the book are perforated if you want to photo copy the material. No need to do that because the CD that comes with the book contains the entire book and has the Old & New Testament New Living Translation. The book on CD is PDF format and Adobe Acrobat reader program is included on the CD. The maps on the CD are in color and can be printed in color on a color printer. This is a plus. This book and CD are well worth its price.
