Unshaken: Ruth (Lineage of Grace #3) Francine Rivers
Book Summary: A beautiful retelling of the story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz. Ruth gave up everything, expected nothing, and God honored her. Readers will be encouraged by the truth that God will faithfully provide for His children even when all hope seems lost.
Review: My favorite of the series. It is a magnificent retelling of the story of Ruth & Boaz. Ms. Rivers does a reverent writing of this story with details that are fiction but believable. She honors the scriptures but set up this retelling with scripture and historic details that go together beautifully. I loved the entire series but this novella was my favorite.
Francine Rivers writes her fact based stories from the bible, yet makes the story's real and understandable. The Lineage of Grace series is the best ever written about special women in the Bible. It shows how God will use anyone who strives to know Him. You have to get the set. They are a MUST read. You will desire to put the story to your life. It opens the eyes of your heart and you will know that you have a lot to do in changing the way you look at the way you're living your life.
I love this book! I really liked how she wove romance into the story, so you got a feeling of how much Ruth and Boaz grew to love each other so much. In the bible, it gives all the facts, but it doesn't really tell you how Boaz and Ruth really felt about each other, and it sort of leaves the story unfinished. It just says that they got married and had a baby. In Unshaken, it really made me feel like i was their , and it gave me a new way of looking at the story. Well Done, Francine Rivers!!
She is an incredible writer with great insight about what life must have been like for Naomi and Ruth. This story moved me because of Ruth's love. I got much more out of the bible story by reading this book.
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!! What a wonderful book. I've never felt the need to read christian fiction except for the Left Behind series but this book has completely changed my mind. Although I am very familiar with the story of Ruth and Naomi I STILL had to go back and do a study to confirm all the new ideas and concepts brought out in the book! The mix of fiction with fact only intigues the reader to find out more!!! Kudos to Francine Rivers
