There are definate translation difference. Not drastic but interesting. The only thing wrong with it is text size. Smaller than usual book size.

This is the best, easiest read, and I believe the most accurate translation available. Anyone who studies the meanings of Hebrew words will find that this version has the correct translation without having to dig. Everyone should have one!

I've used this Bible for years. So much in fact that I ran out of room to put my personal notes and had to purchase a large print version to use for my home studies. I've found this particular Bible to have the best translation I've found and I own about 40 different Bibles. If you are serious about your Bible studies, than this is the version to own. Not only will you learn a bit of Hebrew, but the translation is so easy to understand. When the KJV is a bit confusing you can rely on this Bible to clear it up. Matter fact I love it so much I gave a copy to my Pastor and now he uses it all the time. : )

I am all for learning about Jewish roots to better understand scripture, but it needs to be understood that Jesus "came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him" (John 1:11). Many gentile Christians falsely think that Messianic Jews have a better grasp of the scriptures simply b/c of their Jewishness. The truth is that some Jewish Christians still try to find there identity in their Jewishness instead of Christ. This is a huge mistake that leads to major theological errors. The author of this book sadly falls under this category. One such blatant error taught by this book is that Jewish Christians 'should' keep the dietary Laws or "Kashrut". The author does not submit to scripture (Jesus in Mark 7:19, Peter's Vision in Acts 10, Paul writing to the Galatians, and many more places). He tries to explain these passages away by appealing to a "Jewish understanding", but Jesus continually showed most Jewish understanding to be flawed. It is the spirit that leads into all truth (John 16:13), not Jewish roots or any other. This kind of thinking is what keeps the church so separated. The church is suppose to be made up of believers from all nations, whether Jewish, Greek, Chinese, etc. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28) The Jews are in the same boat as the gentile; and the gentile is in the same boat as the Jews.

This Bible is a breath of fresh air for devotional reading. I enjoy reading the Hebrew prayers that have been added. It can be used for Messianic services and is invaluable to anyone observing the Feasts. Reading this Bible will change your perspective on Christianity/Messianic Judaism.

I have been teaching for a few years now from a Messianic point of view and have found that David Stern's translation of the Word in the Complete Jewish Bible extremely helpful. He does not omit any passages as some of the other bibles do nor does he try to put words in "italics" when they are difficult to translate. I have found he sticks to a rigid interpretation from the original Greek and especially the Hebrerw.A good bible to read and study from.David Dale.

I am very happy with the Bible. It is a great reference Bible to have along with Torah studies. It is more accurate then many of the newer New Testament translations. It should be a must to any Biblical library.

I bought three copies of this Bible, one for myself and two for my daughters. We absolutely love reading this CJB next to out NASB and NIV Bibles because it speaks to our hearts as if we are there, brings clarity and 'aha!'moments and connects us better with Jesus. Also easy to read while completely correct in translation. It's wonderful!
