An up-to-date and improved version of the original Tyndale Life Application Bible which was based on the Living Bible text which was really a paraphrase. Nice to have it now in a newer NIV version.

I have a similar version (Life Application in a different version from an earlier year) and love mine. Was shopping for a Bible for a friend who recently committed her life to Christ and has a lot of questions. She also is an artist and a big fan of black and white, so this cover was perfect for her. She loves the Bible both outside and inside. It's a great tool for young and old believers alike!

this Bible has so much awesome content! The NLT is an easy translation to read, and with all the bonus things in there, study even becomes easier. Definitely worth it.

i am very satisfied with this bible. it was very informative as the is the second study bible that i have. the only objective i have is that the print is very small. Other than that you will be very satisfied. the fact that is is also hardcover makes it very durable and stylish. i was well pleased and would recommend it to anyone.

Absolutley amazing! There has yet to be a case where I cannot find further explanation to a particular point or verse/chapter/story. The publisher's additional Bible-based life counsel is a tremedous and helpful source for guidance and clarity in today's interpretations.

It brings 'life' to reading God's Word. It is especially great for new Christians. It has biographies, maps, explanations, and questions to make you think about how to apply God's Word to your everyday life. I've had mine for over 12 years. Excellent Bible!

I recently purchased a Life Application Study Bible with the NIV text. I was very excited to use it because I was going to be teaching using an NIV(1984) and I didn't have study notes that went with the NIV(1984) text. What I was not expecting was for the text to be the NIV 2011.
The NIV 2011 tries to be gender friendly and politically correct.... and unfortunately the Life Application foot notes do that as well. 1 Timothy 2:12 now has a new word that has never existed in this part of the texts and this is destructive to the meaning of the original text....
(NIV 2011) I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.
"Assume" is allowing for the woman to be appointed to a position of authority (Pastor or Elder) because "assume" leave the door open for the position to be "granted" to Her and unfortunately the study notes follow it. And when the study notes tries to back up it's view point it leaves out a lot of extremely important details from Acts 18:26-28 so that it can try to get away with it's perverted views. This is wrong. Very wrong. These changes where made to make some people happy instead of staying true to the original texts.
Here is what accurate translations of the Bible say:
(NIV 1984) I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.
(NASB) But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
(ESV) I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.
Nothing about "assume" or even a bit of room for error here. It's as clear as crystal. Keep in mind I am not saying Beth Moore is a false teacher. She teaches to women, which the Bible allows, Bible allows women to teach to children as well or to a man as long as another man is with her and it's done in private.
On the flip side there were a lot of good things in this study bible but the NIV 2011 and some of the false foot notes ruins the whole package.
You can get this Bible if you want, but I personally had a lot of problems with the NIV 2011 and in footnotes of the Life Application Study Bible. This saddened me because I heard some good things about The Life Application Study Bible and I really wanted to like it.
People can give me a negative rating for this review if they want but in the end please keep this in mind... we can not pervert the meaning of the text's of the Bible. Ever. We should never allow ourselves to make the word of God say what we want it to say because this only opens doors of the Church to the Devil and from there, everything is downhill. I will never read the NIV 2011 or the Life Application Study Bible again.

This Life Application study Bible in the NIV translation, is full of helpful notes. The print is a little small, but still very easy to read. If you need a large print vsrsion, it is available here at CBD. If you have a problem with small print, as we all do at times, . You can get several types of page magnifiers right here at Christianbooks. If you need help finding what you need, call the customer service department. They are VERY helpful . I highly recommend this Bible. GOD bless you in your study of HIS WORD.

This Bible and notes are nearly unreadable without some type of magnifier. I would, however, recommend the large Print Edition of the Life Application NIV, to anyone who needs a larger text. The notes are twice as small as the Biblical text, making it very difficult to read.

I absolutely love this study bible. I've always owned a bible, but recently started attending a nondenominational church, which is a bible teaching church. I really felt I needed a study bible and this one is wonderful. I can now understand anything I read and it has other great features such as good and bad characteristics of biblical characters and how we can learn from their mistakes. It explains everything from geography of the holy lands to each passage of scripture. I highly recommend this product! It also has a nice area in the front to put a family tree if you so choose, as well as births and deaths in your family.

I started using this Bible to read through the Bible in a year. The application comments are very helpful to understand the culture and history of the context. The application comments do give helpful insights to apply to every day life and help lead to reflection.
