A classic! One of the leading exponents of Orthodox thought to the West, Lossky seeks to reconcile personal experience, or mysticism, with the teachings of the ecumenical councils, arguing that doctrine shapes all human behavior and that God is more inscrutable than we would like to admit. 252 pages, softcover. SVS Press.

Customer Reviews for The Mystical Theology of the Eastern Church
Review 1 for The Mystical Theology of the Eastern Church

It is a very good reading on theology from Eastern Christian perspective. I found it sometimes difficult reading but only at the beginning. Portions on subjects such as Christ, Holy Spirit and the Church are excellent. I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to learn more about the theology from Eastern Christian perspective. Christianbook.com's service was excellent.

Lossky is a master. Western Christians would do well to explore their Eastern history with this short and powerful book. Mindaltering.
