Any time that we can get a better overall understanding of how the Bible all ties together, this is obviously a very good thing. Rose Publishing contacted me to do a review for their Christ in the Passover PowerPoint CD-ROM.

This resource is a very unique one in that it goes over the background of the Passover, then moves into an explanation of the celebration and the symbolism used in the Passover, followed by an explanation of how do to a Christian Seder which the set order of how to celebrate the Passover.

The CD-ROM comes with an 80-slide PowerPoint file (actually two files - a PowerPoint 97-2003 file and a PowerPoint presentation pptx file), 27 page presentation handouts with about 3 large thumbnails of the slides on each page, a 7 page worksheet that includes a checklist for doing a Christian Seder, recipes for the Seder, readings for the Seder and a nice glossary. The CD-ROM contains PowerPoint files for both PC and Mac.

I really appreciate how Rose put this together to give an excellent understanding of what the Passover is and how it points to Christ in symbolism. We often read about the Passover being referenced in many parts of the Scripture, but seldom take time out to understand and appreciate the beauty of the symbolism and celebration and reflection that it is meant to be. They also do some nice comparisons between the Seder and the Lord's Supper that we practice today.

This is a resource that I would recommend for sure. You could use it for personal use to learn, but more often than not, PowerPoint is a tool for presenting to others, so it would be excellent for settings like classrooms, teaching sermons in church, small groups and many more. Highly recommended.

Having attended several Seder Suppers in the past I found this product to be very interesting and applicable in teaching people about the meaning of the Seder and providing a comparison to the Lords Supper which we as Christians celebrate today. I feel that everyone should attend a Seder Supper at least once in their lives it is such a beautiful history lesson. I found that the comparison of the Passover to the Lords Supper was very well done including side-by-side scripture from the Old and New Testaments. The section entitled Celebration and Symbolism was helpful in explaining each step of the Seder Supper what each of the four cups represented as well as the bread and other items. The section entitled A Christian Seder explains in detail what actually takes place at a modern day Seder Supper. I think because I have attended the Seder before it was easy for me to understand all of the steps. Although different from the original Passover Supper, it is still a beautiful thing to witness. I believe that this product would be very useful in a small group teaching of how Christ is represented in the Passover and in the Seder Suppers again a great history lesson also. The slides were easy to read and understand and with the notes pages/handouts would be a great addition to a group study on this topic. I recommend this product for those who want to know more about this subject. I have not received any compensation for reviewing this product.

For years I have been intrigued with the Jewish Celebration of the Passover. I myself have attended three Passover Seder meals. One hosted by a Messianic Jew and his many children. It was very meaningful to hear the children ask the questions. Most Christians have little insight into the feasts and festivals of the Jewish faith. The demonstrations of the matzo bag fascinated me. As a Bible Study teacher of women I want to share with other the experience of the Seder Meal. I invited this family to come to our church and explain the history of the Passover and the significance in the celebration and symbolism as it relates to Jesus Christ our Savior. Years later, I am teaching a Womens class at my church. This PowerPoint of Christ is the Passover is the perfect vehicle to share the Old Testament background of the Passover. The slides show a detailed comparison of the Passover and the Lords Supper using scripture from Exodus 12 and several passages from the New Testament. The Christian Seder portions of the slideshow uses full-color photos of the matzo bag and the Seder plate representing the essential elements in the traditional meal. The photos of middle matzah, called Afikomen, was broken and one piece placed back in the matzo bag show what no amount of words can convey in a lesson. The various slides can be used to supplement teaching and the participants can use the worksheets to share in the reading of the scripture. This resource would be a wonderful addition when used in a Bible study or a special class prior to our Easter celebrations. I was extremely disappointed with this product. This product is something that anyone with a basic understanding of PowerPoint could make on their own for free. In addition, the content was very lacking. Overall this product was very big disappointment to me.
