I would have enjoyed a larger novel which would have gone into greater details and made a slightly deeper story. But its size did not detract from the basic premise that "God does truly use ALL things for our good." As we go through life it is so important that we face all of our past hurts and deal with them, instead of running from them. It takes pain to bring healing to we humans, much as a surgeon must open and "clean out" the bad so that the body can heal and be well again. That is how that God does to bring healing emotionally to us. He puts us into a corner sometimes so we have to deal with our issues.
