Customer Reviews for Busy Mom's Guide to Parenting Teens
Busy Mom’s Guide to Parenting Teens by Dr. Paul C. Reisser is a question-and-answer style book to help guide both mom and dad through the challenges of raising teenagers. The book teaches how to deal with issues such as: physical and emotional changes, increased peer pressure, social networking, drug and alcohol abuse, sexuality, self-esteem and independence.
It took me quite a while to work through this book—there were many issues I couldn’t imagine my children having to face. During the time I was reading the book, my oldest child turned thirteen and my motivation suddenly changed. While some areas still seem such a long way off, this book was a good wake-up call to remind me that the time for serious discussions is at hand and I cannot coast through my children’s teen years with my head in the sand.
Dr. Reisser tackles each question in a frank and honest way without sugar-coating the facts. While I pray that my children will never have to deal with many of the issues covered in the book, I am thankful that I have such a practical resource at my fingertips for when the tough questions arise.
I give this book 5 stars out of 5.
I received this book free from Tyndale House Publishers. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
