Review 1 for His Treasure: Gems of Love from Your King
Date:February 7, 2014
I purchased this book about a month ago and I can't put it down! Even my daughter (who is 13) and my husband are reading it! I feel like The Lord has laid it on my heart to use this book as an outreach to the women of my small town. I am currently in the planning stage of the outreach ministry that I want to center around handing out copies of the book. I came from a broken home with a absent father and a drug addicted mother. I feel The Lord wants me to use the experiences I have had and reach out to the abused and addicted women of my County with your book at the center! I feel He lead me straight to this book for that purpose! For someone who raised herself I can honestly say it confirmed what I already knew......he is the best Father anyone can ever hope to have. Your Letters spoke straight to my soul! I really wish there was a version of this for men. My husband would absolutely LOVE it!

Review 2 for His Treasure: Gems of Love from Your King
SUMMARY: Written from God’s point-of-view as our Heavenly Father to His earthly daughters, this devotional speaks to the heart of all women. Each devotional contains a love-letter straight from God to inspire, encourage and uplift His precious daughters. Along with the each letter, a “Treasure of Truth” thought and a Scripture verse are included. The devotionals address subjects all women experience (roadblocks, perspectives, solace, salvation, direction, faithfulness) from a loving Father’s perspective.
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS: This absolutely charming little devotional is truly a gem. From the size of the smaller-shaped book to the exquisite pictures that accompany each devotion, I enjoyed the entire package. The letters spoke to me full of hope, commitment, rest and unconditional love. Very, very well done, I would be proud to share this book or give as a gift…positively delightful!
RATING: 5 (out of 5) pennies

Feeling Discouraged? Read a Love Letter from God
Date:November 22, 2013
I don’t know about you, but times have been pretty tough here lately. It’s easy to get dejected and discouraged when you find yourself working harder and harder and feel like you’re just getting farther and farther behind.
I was watching my youngest daughter at our church’s Thanksgiving potfaith last night. Arielle is a hugger. She loves to hug everyone. Everyone is her friend (whether they know it or not!)
When she was very little, we lived in Phoenix. Often we would be driving down a six or eight lane freeway going 65 mph and she would point at some random car whizzing past and say, “That’s my friend!”
When we got home and I thought about that precious little love, it struck me… I used to be just like her! I used to run up to everyone I knew, expecting to be accepted just as I was and loved… no exceptions.
I’m not sure exactly when that changed… whether it was the constant bullying in an inner-city public grade school… a series of abusive relationships beginning in my teen years… but at some point I stopped trusting other people… and I stopped believing that I was of any value to anyone but my children.
A completely open heart and nature was somehow, over the years, transformed into borderline agoraphobia. At the very same dinner, surrounded by the very same loving and caring people, I found myself uncomfortable and panicky. The conversation that goes on in my mind says that it’s better not to reach out and try to speak with someone… you see, my mind says, it would just make them feel as if they HAD to speak with you. It’s not because they really want to… obviously they don’t, because they haven’t already. I mean, of course they would be polite… these are polite and caring people, but they wouldn’t really MEAN it… Frankly, I need to learn to tell my mind to shut up, but I’m not there yet. I honestly believe that any friendly overtures made to me are done out of obligation and good manners. It takes years of interaction before I actually trust that another person might trulylike me.
So, imagine my joy when I got sent a free copy of “His Treasure: Gems of Love from Your King” by Sheri Rose Shepherd from Tyndale House Publishers. (Being on their review team is like year round Christmas!)
I’ve read several of Sheri’s books before… and I even got to see her speak at a Women of Faith conference many years ago in Phoenix. I was very excited to see what her latest book contained.
It’s not a very big book. It fits easily inside a purse, diaper bag, or backpack. And it certainly isn’t a hard book to read… each “chapter” is a two page spread that includes a Bible verse, an important thought… and a love letter from God. Each little letter contains one important point that is illustrated and reinforced by the Bible verse and thought.
For example, in the chapter on Identity, I read that God has an identity for me that is based on my true worth in Him.
"If you could see yourself the way I do, even for a moment, no one would have the power to define who you are."
Who is defining who I see myself as? Certainly not God… When I still allowed Him to define me, I was just like my little Arielle.
The Bible verse listed along with the full-page letter on Identity is from 1 Peter 2:10… “Once you had no identity as a people. Once you received no mercy, now you have received God’s mercy.”
This little book has traveled everywhere with me in my bag since I received it. I cannot imagine going anywhere without it. My 12 year old daughter will often pull it out of my bag and read a page or two at a time… which makes me very glad. Maybe if my girls can have a firm grasp of who they are… daughters of the King of Kings… they won’t have to suffer some of the isolation and self-imposed loneliness that I have dealt with most of my adult life.

Review 4 for His Treasure: Gems of Love from Your King
Sheri Rose Shepherd has penned a beautiful book that is overflowing with God’s love. This book is comprised of refreshing and encouraging letters from The Lord. The book is directed towards women as many of the letters begin with “My Daughter” but I think the message contained in the letters could be enjoyed by anyone in need of encouragement. Along with each letter there is a scripture and a “Treasure of Truth”. This book is small in size but packed with a powerful message.
I enjoyed this book and found it to be very uplifting. It was wonderful to read about how much The Lord loves me in a letter format that spoke directly to my heart. It seemed so personal. I think this book would make a wonderful gift as it could be used as a devotional or simply serve as a gentle reminder of how much we are treasured by The Lord. I look forward to gifting this to many family members and friends as I know it will encourage them and brighten their day.

Review 5 for His Treasure: Gems of Love from Your King
His Treasure is a beautifully written devotional by Sheri Rose Shepherd that is written from the view of our Heavenly Father to His daughters. Each day is filled with so much truth and the design of each page is gorgeous!
One thing I really like about this devotional is how everything can be focused on Him. His treasure, His hope, His identity, His sight, etc. I think that's very important. I also like how each devotional is short and concise. It's good for all of those on-the-go ladies (holla!).
Girls, if you struggle with grasping the way the Lord views you (don't we all?) then I would suggest you grab you a copy of this book.
