My kids love Heidi and I love Shirley Temple. I like that she is so sweet and lovely. An excellent example for my little girls to want to be like. My husband liked the fact that scripture was quoted in this movie.

Charming classic based on 19th century Swiss childrens book by Johanna Spyri. Although rather ageist and shallow vilification of older women as evil hags is there, the film is made with old-fashioned quality and craftsmanship now very much lost. Although black-and-white, the film is handsomely produced, clean, full of drama, and little Shirley Temple has real charisma. Wonderful.
