Jamie MGender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5FantasticJanuary 11, 2014Jamie MGender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A solid, dependable, commentary with a wealth of insight. One can easily read Morris and glean significant details without getting bogged down in unduly technical or academic discussions. Morris ranks in the top 3 commentaries on Matthew, and compared to Carson and Blomberg I like Morris' work the best. If you just want a reference work, get Carson. If you want a reference work that you can sit back and enjoy reading, get Morris.

Buddy Boone5 Stars Out Of 5February 5, 2001Buddy BooneThis is a great commentary. Dr. Morris spends most of his time explaining the text as it has come to us. Understand that this is not a critical commentary. Morris makes this clear in the introduction. If you are looking for a critical commentary on Matthew, this is not the right choice. If, however, you want a commentary on Matthew that reverently deals with the text and sets forth clear and cogent explaination, then you should add this to your shelf. It provides tremendous help in sermon preparation. An all around excellent commentary from a dependable exegete.

Brandon R.5 Stars Out Of 5Classic MorrisAugust 9, 2019Brandon R.Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Leon Morris is one of my favorite commentators and I grab every one of his commentaries that I can. I just recently worked through Luke and loved his shorter commentary from the Tyndale series. It's nice to see him write more exhaustively on a book. The strength of this particular commentary for the PTNC seems to be his interaction with the Greek. This is currently my second go-to behind the fantastic little commentary by R.T. France, also in the Tyndale(TNTC) series, although I havn't read Don Carson's, the popular go-to for others.

Jeffrey Lockwood5 Stars Out Of 5May 24, 2003Jeffrey LockwoodWhat a fantastic commentary by Dr. Morris. Technical but very readable. I love his translation of the Greek text, as it brings out the meaning of what Matthew was trying to get across. I thoroughly enjoyed it and my knowledge of the Gospel of Matthew has been greatly enhanced. 5 out of 5 was not high enough!
