HarperPerennial The Prophets

The Prophets provides a unique opportunity for readers of the Old Testament, both Christian and Jewish, to gain fresh and deep knowledge of Israel's profound understanding of the prophetic movement. The author's profound understanding of the prophets also opens the door to new insight into the philosophy of religion.

As an author myself, I so much appreciate substantive works which transcend the traditional perspective. This book does that for me. Having read this book through just one time and then reading the prophetic books of the Bible, my mind is alert to the prophet's consciousness and the pathos of God, which heretofore had been overlooked by me. I recommend this book strongly to any and all serious minded people of God whose hearts desire is to become grounded and built upon the foundation of the Prophets and the Apostles (Ephesians 2:19-22)beyond the traditional point of view.

No one can ever claim familiarity with the prophets until this book, in particular, and this wonderful author, in general, are made part of your life. I am not Jewish, but the depth and wealth of their tradition and vision are indispensable to the study of our Christian faith.
