The other characters in the book are brought to life and portrayed so vividly you realize that so many times you have acted in the same manner toward Christ by questioning, running away, denying him out of fear, and with Mary, not recognizing him as we search for Him through our tears and anguish. Reading it as a family, we found that it evoked discussion and thoughtful meditation every day. We were sad when it came to an end
