I bought this book for my third and fourth grader. They have not had much formal writing instruction up to this point. I really like this book as it is very step by step. The beginning of the book was review for them, but later on it gets into writing interesting sentences and writing paragraphs with topic and closing sentences. There is a small amount of grammar touching on subjects, predicates, adjectives and adverbs. It's a good book for systematically building information to teach your children to write.
