Review 1 for Becoming a Chief Home Officer: Loving and Surviving Your Career Shift to Stay-at-Home Mom
Excellent Book on Shifting to a Stay-at-Home Mom
Date:April 14, 2011
I love Allie Pleiter's proactive approach to handling the career shift and greatly appreciate her candidness in sharing her own struggles. This book is a MUST HAVE for women in our success and career centered culture who are making the challenging choice to shift into the career of stay at home mom.
I had a baby ten months ago and was struggling to make my "career shift" to stay at home mom. When I read this book, I felt so relieved to hear someone else describing the struggles that I was facing.
Pleiter does an amazing job using entertaining stories to illustrate how difficult the transition can be to SAHM and to describe some possible strategies for taking control of your new job as a full time mommy. She talks about learning to take breaks so that you stay fresh for your job. She describes how to rely on colleagues (primarily other SAHM's) for encouragement, advice and support. She even talks about making the appropriate choices for your attire in your new mommyhood career!
I can't say enough good things about Allie Pleiter's humor and helpful advice surrounding the transition into full time motherhood and would highly recommend this book!
