I have always been a big fan of Jeremy Camp. I have been to his concerts and heard his testimony. I still Believe, is one of my favorite songs. I first heard it when I was going through a difficult time in my life and felt all alone. A new single mom of three young children and I was questioning why did God let this happen? Why do my children have to go through this? God used Jeremy's songs to speak to my soul and let me know that He still cares. I could not wait to read this book. It truly was one of the best books I have ever read. I already passed it on to my oldest son who is now 15. Reading about Jeremy's life and the trials he and his wife have gone through encourages you right where you are. Wherever you are in your walk with Christ, this book will lift you up. You will be certain as you turn the pages that God does restore and gives back everything the enemy has stolen. Thank you Jeremy for allowing God to use you.

I Still Believe is a testimony of the love story that God wrote for Jeremy Camp, one of the top Christian Musicians today. The book has been co-written with David Thomas and it lays out a wonderful and amazing story of God's power.
Jeremy's first wife, Melissa died of cancer only months into their marriage. God had prepared Jeremy for it in many ways that he didn't see until after. For example, he wrote the words to Walk By Faith on his honeymoon while they believed she'd gone into remission.
A few short months after that Jeremy had to live out what he'd penned. During that painful and confusing time after losing his wife God pressed on his spirit to write again.
"Pick up your guitar."
But Jeremy didn't want to. "Pick up your guitar. I have something for you to write."
After the famous song I Still Believe was birthed.
There is so much more I could tell you about this book as that is only the beginning of the journey for Jeremy. Get this book for yourself and read what happens when we let God write our love stories.
The book is filled with wonderful messages of hope and encouragement. There are photos of Jeremy`s life from baby boy to present. It is an easy read, comfortable read. But most of all, it will stir your own heart to be right in the center of God`s will no matter what that brings along your path.
A definite keeper!

When I first say Camp’s Memoir I was excited and knew I had to read the book, but as I was reading the book I kept thinking he’s too young to have experienced the kind of pain he has. I knew his songs were written deep from the heart and no matter what I was going through at the time, they never failed to touch me and challenge me into a deeper relationship with God. I knew the book would do no less.
And I was right.
Over the years, I’ve heard bits and pieces of his testimony about loosing his wife to cancer, but I never could have imagined the depth of his experience, both with the pain and God’s healing. For the Camps to share their testimony is humbling. I Still Believe is an amazing, powerful testimony of God’s never ending love, even in the midst of our darkest moments. I don’t want to give too much away because there is a something about reading his testimony that jumps off the pages and reaches deep within that makes you say, “I want to be sold out for Jesus”, but this is a must read.

In May of 2011 I wrote a review of Jeremy Camp’s Memoir I Still Believe. That edition was self published. He recently revised and expanded the book. As with the original edition, I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. That meant I was up until about 4 in the morning as I started the book later in the evening. I don’t recommend doing that, but the book was worth the crazy hours and the original review still applies to this new edition.
Jeremy talks about life growing up with insecurities, trying his own way, then finding God is the only way, to meeting his first wife, losing her to cancer, then finding Adie and how God's hand was in all of it. It is very much from his heart. The emotion is raw at points as well as times where we as the readers can chuckle along.
It was easy to tell that the book had been expanded when I noticed more about Jeremy’s early life that I had not remembered reading before. We learn more of how his parents came to Christ and how he became the better big brother to his 2 younger brothers. As I was reading, I did something that I had not done before with a memoir. I stopped where I was near the end of chapter 4 and grabbed one of my highlighters I use for my Bible and related books. As I have been going through this season of life, God has been using Jeremy’s music and book among other things to help keep me focused. For the last few months I have felt that God has been wanting me to dig into His word more, something that I struggle with, and reading those same words at the end of chapter 4 felt like a confirmation to what I needed to do so those words got highlighted. I went back later to check the first edition and found those same words at the end of chapter 2. I kept the highlighter with me as I read the book in case anything else jumped out at me.
The most noticeable changes to the book are the thickness, the chapter headings, and a gray band of pages a little over half way through the book. The book is almost twice as thick as its predecessor; the chapters have been renamed and there is one more of them; and the photos have been added to, put in color, and moved to the gray band of pages. As much as I liked how the black and white pictures were laid out in the first edition, I like seeing the pictures in color. It is also nice to see Egan included as he was not born yet when the first edition was released.
I would definitely recommend this book. It does not matter if you have read the first one or not. If you did not buy the first one, definitely do what you can to get this one. Be prepared to need some tissues as there are moments of tears to go with the laughter and the healing that God has brought in Jeremy and through him. There also comes the slight smile on the face knowing that God is very much active in our lives and does care for us deeply as I think about all that Jeremy wrote in his book.

I am a big fan of Jeremy Camp and his memoir was one that I could not put down. I was somewhat familiar with his story but I had never heard his testimony firsthand. This was a very touching look at his life growing up and then his relationship with his wife who died from cancer 3 months after they were married. The story of "I Still Believe" is so inspiring I will now be crying every time I hear that song. The faith and trust in God that Jeremy displayed while going through an incredibly painful time in life is a wonderful testimony that God is who He says He is. I appreciate that Jeremy shares his testimony through music and is still willing to share on stage what he went through. His wife is also an inspiration in understanding what he went through as well as making their ministry about God, not getting caught up in wanting to forget the past. His songs are truly full of worship and those who listen to them are pointed straight to the glory of God. This is a must read for anyone who loves Jeremy Camp's music.
I received this book free from Tyndale House publishers in exchange for my review.
