I don’t know if there was a hidden message in the first two books of this series that I somehow missed or not but there was definitely a message in this one: Don’t judge a person without knowing their full circumstances.
Miriam’s Quilt shows us that a person is like a book in that way – they can’t truly be judged just by a look, by one meeting or one incident or one conversation.
I will say this too though, Jennifer Beckstrand seems to enjoy throwing in at least one character that we love to hate.
In the beginning of this book, I had two different candidates and then she threw in a third.
However, it soon became apparent that the first two candidates were much more a victim than a tormentor.
I would LOVE to say this does not ring true but I am very much afraid it does. There are people like this in EVERY community – Amish and English alike.
Even the characters that we loathe are written exceptionally well. The story draws us in immediately and Jennifer keeps you glued to the pages til the very end. I have flown through all three books, and that is saying something because I am a very fast reader to begin with.
Each one is a GREAT read and I highly recommend the entire series to everyone!
Now onto Jennifer’s Huckleberry Hill series!

Jennifer Beckstrand is a relative newcomer to the world of Amish fiction . . . but she has "hit the ground running" -- and her books just keep getting better and better! Miriam's Quilt, the conclusion of her Forever After in Apple Lake series, is my favorite so far.
The characters are very believable, with realistic depth and complexity. They grow and change as they react and respond to the events in their lives. The plot is engaging, drawing you in deeper as the story progresses. Some elements fall into place as you might expect -- although the route they take might be surprising. And some things may catch you off-guard.
As I neared the end of the book, I was very conflicted -- I was anxious to see several questions resolved, but I really didn't want the story to end! As a huge fan of Amish fiction, I definitely give Miriam's Quilt five stars.
Miriam's Quilt is fine as a stand-alone novel, but why not enjoy the whole series.
Thanks to Jennifer for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Love was looking at Miriam for quite some time before she realized what she thought was love was not. A good lesson
in love matters that could happen to anyone.

This book was number 3 in a series and each one was fantastic. In Miriam's Quilt, she had me wondering how it would end almost all the way to the end,and then wondered if I could be wrong in my thinking. But she gave me the ending I wanted, with wanting a next one in this series. Surely she can't keep us dangling with their future like that. I want to read more, more and more about them. Don't want to give away the ending by mentioning names but keep it going. I'd love to keep reading about their marriage and future life.
