I have been captivated with Michael Phillips' American Dreams series. The epic conclusion, Dream of Love, does not disappoint. The history is fascinating and the love of God demonstrated within the Davidson family is so uplifting.

This is the final book in the American Dreams series, and for anyone who is curious about the history of the civil war, Phillips does an excellent job at bringing it to life! For one as woefully ignorant of American history as I am, I feel as though I took a college course! Phillips ties the spiritual, political, and economic history together, with lives of people who face tough questions about slavery, God's will, and personal responsibility. At times, the picture is pretty gruesome, particularly with the bounty hunters, but that made it even harder to put down. What I loved was that he brought the lives of the First Nations people into the picture which gave birth to an even larger struggle for all races to exist together. The amount of detail in this series is staggering! Now you can't read one book by itself, the series is lengthy, but an eye opener!

This whole series was well written. These books brought out the plight not only of the Negroes but the Native Americans. The way he brought out the spiritual side of each of the characters was truly a gift of insight into the struggles we face as we go thru the seasons of life.
