P & R Publishing Divorce: Before You Say I Don't

This hard-hitting booklet is designed to persuade individuals who are intent on pursuing divorce (on other than biblical grounds) to reconsider their plans. The first portion focuses on the likely consequences of such an action. The second refutes nine of the most common justifications for divorce. There is also an entire section (appendix) that addresses the issue of being "in love" with someone other than one's spouse.

Lou Priolo is the Director of the Eastwood Counseling Ministry in Montgomery, Alabama. He is a graduate of Calvary Bible College and Liberty University. Lou has been a full-time biblical counselor and instructor for more than nineteen years, and is a Fellow of the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors. He lives in Wetumpka, Alabama, with his wife Kim and his daughter Sophia.

WARNING: Not Applicable to Domestic Abuse

Before you pass this book along to a friend, please be sure that your friend is not a victim of domestic abuse. This book will lay tremendous guilt on someone who may be trying to protect their children from a mentally disturbed and dangerous person. For an accurate review of this book type Lou Priolo and abuse in an internet search. This book needs a disclamer, in which the author acknowledges that abuse is an evil in even 'Christian' marriages, and that the book's contents are not applicable in those cases. This book could easliy become a tool in the hands of a wicked abusive person to futher harm his victims.

This very small and concise pamphlet-like book is filled with straight-forward information. The author tells the truth with no sugar coating. This should be a must-read for every Christian that is contemplating a divorce. It is filled with scriptures and truth. I highly recommend it.

I am standing for my marriage and got this book for my spouse. I read it and felt it could be powerful, but I also felt uncomfortable with some of the loop holes the author gave to those who still decide to divorce. I'm not sure if I will give this book to my spouse.
