Review 3 for Keep the Pigs Out
A must have book and tool for your christian walk!
Date:May 30, 2011
I just finished both of these books by Don Dickerson and immediately looked to see if there were any new material. Being from the south we believe in demons and spirits but NO ONE has ever told us how to get rid of them. I have taught sunday school in the past and what I could have shared with students would have been life altering for them with Don's help. You don't have to live defeated anymore read this book and be free. Can't wait until his next book comes out. Thank you again!
Having grown up in the Southern Baptist tradition I was surprised to find the author of this book to be an ordained Southern Baptist minister. Don Dickerman professes to be a conservative Christian and a “pretty normal guy.” At first, I was skeptical because I’ve not been exposed to his type of teaching about demons and Satan. In fact, the only exposure I have to the casting out of demons is from movies.
“Keep the Pigs Out” is essential reading for every Christian who truly desires freedom in Christ. Dickerman explains how we unknowingly give “permission” to demons to enter our lives and some ways may surprise you. Not only does he tell you how they enter, he also provides a step-by-step way of removing them from your life. And no, it’s nothing like you see in the movies. In fact, he advises you to tread carefully so that you don’t unwittingly give them more control.
You may find yourself getting bogged down in the details after the first several chapters; however, it is important for you to read until the end because he brings out some very deep biblical truth in the final chapters you shouldn’t miss. Dickerman uses scripture to back up his beliefs and encourages his readers not to give demons much thought. Your focus should be on Christ and reading the Bible for it’s by dwelling on Christ and God’s Word that you will break free from Satan’s lies.
If you have found yourself believing Satan’s lies about you or your past, read this book. If you feel oppressed or depressed, read this book. The most important thing, as Dickerman points out, is to take care of your own spiritual house before tackling someone else’s or you will be inviting trouble.
Don Dickerman is a graduate of a Baptist seminary and directs an evangelistic ministry to prisons. He has also written “When Pigs Move In,” explaining how to clean the demonic influences impacting your life and the lives of others.

It was a very interesting book written in an easy to read and understand manner. The author has a great deal of experience dealing with demonic spirits and counseling those who are oppressed. There were several ideas that I hadn't come across before, like being careful to work within the area in which you yourself have legal rights. Just because we are Christian doesn't mean that we have the right interfere with the territory that God has given to a demon. I didn't realize that there were areas like this. He uses lots of examples to put across his ideas and also has chapters about the difference between what the demons and angels can actually do. This book would be worth reading for anyone interested in an effective spiritual warfare calling.
