Remembering God's Awesome Acts covers Genesis 1 through Exodus 12. It includes creation, the flood, languages, Ur, Sumer, and Egypt. The primary focus is the Bible and Ancient History. The notebook includes a drawing course, a structured creative writing course, speech, and drama. In addition, geography, anthropology, archeology, and linguistics are studied. The purpose of each element is to give the student a better understanding of the Bible. The journey of learning is fascinating and life-changing as the Bible is presented not only as a historical document, but also as a handbook for daily living. Jesus Christ is emphasized from beginning to end. The NIV version is used, but it can be adapted to any Bible version. Includes Student book and Teacher's Guide.

My Kids Loved It
Date:August 21, 2013
My son (grade 6) and daughter (grade 7) did this book last year together. Both my kids are "arty" and really enjoyed a "non-textbook" approach. They loved the drawing lessons and learned a lot from them. They have heard the Bible a lot, but found the Bible lessons interesting and I was pleased at the depth of solid teaching without getting into doctrinal quandaries. I have never seen any study of ancient Egypt that taught about the gods and then showed how they were each proven false by the ten plagues. The creative writing lessons gave them a good jumping off point to express themselves, and they loved the "plays" they put on for the neighbors. There was a lot of good history in there too, and I'd recommend the having the internet, since some of the pages would be hard to complete without being able to look up things you wouldn't find in the average encyclopedia. It was a great year, and the kids begged to do the next book, which we have just started!

Review 2 for Remembering God's Awesome Acts
Date:July 16, 2009
We like this program. It is a bit too advanced for my 9 year old...she was not happy and did not understand some of it. But my 11 year old and 13 year old really enjoy it, as do I. We love how evolution is proven false again and again and my daughter especially loves the drawing lessons. We have only done a few of the lessons so far, but we are looking forward to more. I also bought the next book, so when we finish this one, we can move on to the next.
Invaluable information in this curriculum! You and your kids will learn so much by using it! It is not the most contemporary effort, but by coloring the pages it spices it up a little. Great for a study of Ancient Egypt, especially if you want to be sure the Biblical history is integrated with the secular history!! Super interesting, especially if your kids have heard all the BIble stories a 100 times and need some more meat than milk.
