I love the TBOTB project, the book ordering and the uncluttering of the text. What pleasantly surprised me about this new Zondervan edition is just how nicely they've executed this. Compared to the original Biblica's paperbacks, this is superior in every way. The font is more classic and readable. The single column is great, with not too many words per line which is a problem in many single-column bibles. These are well sewn, and open very nicely. But best of all, the paper is top-notch. Wonderful feel and quite opaque for as super-thin as it is...1000 sheets (2000 pages) in just 1-1/8 inch thick text block. I'm not crazy about TruTone and would prefer a leather or even bonded leather option, but it's what's inside that counts and Zondervan's hit a home run with this Bible.

Review 3 for The Books of the Bible, NIV, Italian Duo-Tone, Brown
I knew this edition of the Bible was in the works and I awaited its publication eagerly. It is a pleasure to hear/read the word of God anew through this edition without chapter and verse. The text makes more sense as the divisions reveal the authors' intention. It also helps the reader see repeated words and phrases the author used, and the movement to new ideas or subjects. The brief introductions to the individual books are excellent. Sometimes it takes a little effort not to "see" the chapters and verses in your mind, especially for well known passages. But you will quicky get passed this and enjoy this new (and old!) way of reading scripture.
