I read all 235 pages in one sitting, as I could not put down the book. This true story weaves together events from the author's childhood of poverty on and off the Reservation with her divorce at age 52. Through this account we see how God worked in her childhood and in her adult life to bring her to Himself.

A powerful story of overcoming a very challenging upbringing. It took courage to be so honest.

I, too, had trouble putting this book down. I don't know anything about Hattie Kauffman personally, but this felt like an honest account of her life. What I loved about it is that she found Christ when she realized she needed Him (as I did), and she was able to see that God had been there all through her life working bad things out for good (as He did for me). This is a good testimony that God is real, that He loves us, that He uses people to help us find Him, and He is all we need. May God bless her for sharing her story and use it in a might way.
