It is the movie about a man who left the town because he thinks that God never help him at all. But when he came back, he realize that everyone need him more. It helps me understand how Faith works.

This movie really surprised us! The acting is good quality. The film is good quality. The plot kept us wanting to know what will happen. The characters seem real and plausible.
I really like that the movie does not accredit God with the bad things that happen in this world. That impressed me. So many times Christian movies lie and say God causes people to be tempted, or God makes bad things happen to us. The bible clearly states that is not true. James 1:13 says When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;. Also James 1:17 says Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. So, with that said I love that this movie does not teach something I have to counter, like most Christian media seems to do lately.
The movie is still thrilling even after seeing it a few times. My nine year old daughter and my 2 year old son were not scared by it, they were intrigued. But it is an adult movie that is suitable for most kids. Some kids may not know what to think about the scenes with a fire in it. But if you remain calm and reassure them, it will be fine.
I hope that Corbin Bernsen will do more movies with this faith theme. We really liked it because it was not a movie aimed at evangelizing but instead was a good movie with a theme of real life faith woven in. He did a superb job making this movie.

I remember Corbin Bernsen from the 80s TV show L.A. Law (1986-94), so it is interesting that he's done such a personal, Christian movie. My wife still will not willingly watch Christian movies because she feel's as though the production values are sub-par, compared to secular offerings. However, that is changing (the movies, not my wife), and Rust will help that change. The production values are good. I also noticed that Mike Post helped compose the music- he also wrote the music for L.A. Law. Which is one of the things that contributes to this being a quality production. There are some backlighting issues because of the snow and brightness, which is a challenge even for people with much more production experience, and is a very minor issue. The script and depth of the characters truly make this a movie worth watching, and a movie worth buying. It is good to see that Corbin is parlaying his Hollywood experience into to a genre of film that can benefit and help bring it to a level that will make it competitive in the marketplace as both a product and a witness. I highly recommend this movie.

I've already watched it 6 times. The message is so good and Corbin Bernsen is amazing in presenting the struggle to understand what a 'walk of faith' truly means. I highly recommend this movie.

This is an incredible movie given the fact that most of actors are from the town where it was filmed.

The movie started out very slow and I was lost but about 45 minutes into the movie everything pulls together and you start to see what is going on and it become a really awesome movie.
Written, directed and starting Corbin Bernsen, he takes you on a journey of a man searching for his faith, finding God, and where he has gone. The movie also takes you on the journey of a small town named Kipling and how the shouldn’t judge people by their cover and that things aren’t always what they seem.
I love that this move is filmed in Canada and the town’s people are the majority of the actors. It really makes this movie more personal and real. If you watch the special features you can get the “pride” (not that they are prideful, just proud) in the town’s people’s faces, and you just can’t help but smile. Also note Lorne Cardinal from “Corner Gas”, Canada’s #1 hit comedy is in this movie.
I can not write this review without mentioning a character and the actor who plays him, Lloyd Allen Warner who plays Travis. He reminds me of my cousin Jeff who was born with brain damage. Most people don’t understand why he does the things he does but it is always from him heart. Travis took the blame to protect others, and he didn’t care what the consequences were to himself as long as the other people were safe. I think from watching the special features that Lloyd is very much like her character, he has many awards from saving other people from danger. I was talking with my husband and I said, “it’s because his brain is wired differently then ours, we think ‘if I go into that burning building I might get hurt’, Lloyd/Travis think, “If I don’t go into the burning building someone might get hurt’.” I could only wish I would think/feel like that. And I think we can all learn a lesson on compassion from this character/man.
This is a perfect movie to sit around with your family and watch. There are so many different levels to learn from and teach your kids about. I do however want to say that the special features were the best part for me. After watching the movie and then seeing the people talking in their real life circumstance, you really get a feel for the love and hard work put into the movie.

This is a great entertainment value alone, but it also has great teaching value. As a pastor I look for stories that can be used to both entertain and have moral value that can be used to teach the youth, the inmates, and my church to be Like Jesus not judge but love and nurture others and this movie does that, as well as allows us to see our own doubts and fears, and grow stronger in Christ
