Moody Publishers Famine in the Land: A Passionate Call for Expository Preaching

Although many others have bemoaned the lack of expository preaching coming from our pulpits, few have defined the need for and explained the principles of expository preaching so well. Lawson does an excellent job of instructing and inspiring those of us who are committed to the recovery of expository preaching.

dr Lawson's title matches his writing. He takes passages from the Bible and exposites them on the page. Every argument and urgeing are directly from scripture. I highly recommend this book to pastors and parishioners alike. Every christian should read this book, if you do not know what expositoy preaching is, you will after you read this book.

This book is desperately needed in a time where the pulpit lacks the preaching of God's Word, but focuses on the felt needs of the people (2 Tim 4:1-4). Dr. Lawson provides an challenging read to the one behind the pulpit or in the pew for a return to expository preaching.

Having Dr. Lawson as a pastor and hearing him preach is the evidence that this man lives his passion to teach and exposit God's Word. Thus giving great validity to the book as well as his teaching. Coram deo
