Against the dark background of suffering, sin, and struggle that make up so much of life, it can sometimes feel as if the whole world is a sad and empty place resounding with desperate cries. The first two chapters of Matthew's and Luke's Gospels proclaim otherwise. They headline "Good News of Great Joy for All People!" They say it's not a dirge we should be singing, but a carol: "Joy to the world! The Lord has come!" How fully have we understood this mystery of God becoming human? And what does it mean to celebrate the coming of the Lord into our still struggling world?
Six sessions include questions for discussion and application, commentary and explanations, quotes and prayer helps along with the text to be studied individually or with a group. Group sessions take about one and a half hours.
