Kregel Publications The Doctrines That Divide: A Fresh Look at the Historic Doctrines That Separate Christians

Many in the church seek unity by glossing over major theological differences. Lutzer confronts those differences head-on, seeking to give you a clear understanding of why they exist. His non-combative look at infant baptism, sacraments, the worship of Mary, eternal security, and other divisive issues will help you formulate a fresh biblical perspective on historic doctrines. 247 pages, softcover from Kregel.

I could not put this book down. It was exciting to review the doctrines that divide us, as well as explain from each perspective why they hold their views. Lutzer did a great job in representing the views well, and then coming to some helpful conclusions. I absolutely loved this book, as these are topics that will come up in discussions about doctrine within the Word of God. A must buy!

Dr. Lutzer has done an outstanding job at compling a text that is full of historical and biblical information that allows the reader to become informed about the many disputes that seperate "Christians" today. He does a good job of presenting all sides, and he always accurately portrays the views that leading theologians have held. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

Among the best popular level views of various church doctrines. The author is a Protestant Calvinist, but does a good job representing differing viewpoints. Highly recommended as a brief overview of the historical development of various doctrines.
