Read the book for myself, loved it so much we used it for our family bible study. It was fantastic for teaching our teens. Puts the ideas of Romans 7 and 8 into an understandable language that really drives home our why we struggle with sin, what it looks like in ourselves and how to overcome it.

A very fascinating read this book was for me. This title was written by Kris Lundgaard, whose book was written as a modernized version of Indwelling Sin and The Mortification of Sin by Puritan John Owen. Now I havent read John Owens book yet, but I am curious what differences are between Kris Lundgaard and John Owens books. Kris book was originally suggested by my church's youth pastor, in my opinion it was a very good pick for our group. I highly recommend this to other bible groups out there, because I believe it would not have been as powerful of an impact if I had read this alone.Obviously, as the title suggests this is a book about sin. Because of how this book addresses sin, I would recommend this book to all Christians, but I dont know if I can recommend this book to many outside of the faith. I say this not to deprive people of knowledge, but because I do not believe someone who rejects or simply does not yet know of God and Christ would respond to the book the same way as a Christian might; it would be like a high school math teacher who tries to teach calculus to 4th graders. The purpose of this book is not to entertain readers necessarily, it is to educate readers of how dangerous is the sin within our hearts and how it can be dealt with. This is essential, because in my opinion some people, including myself at times, feel sin is either something to shrug off or to become paralysed in fear.Do not assume incorrectly. This is not a book that is designed to be used as puffery, it is opposite of that. For me, this was a very humbling book which as my bible group and I discussed it, we learned many things about ourselves and I am certain all of us grew in the spirit. The book talked about the many dangerous appearances of sin, it also provided numerous passages of scripture, and it was well written. This is a book filled with truth and I have no arguments against what is contained within those pages.

Men - Had any problem trying to break the stronghold of sin in your life? This is a MUST read for every man or woman. It deals with sin form a Biblical standpoint yet it draws pictures easy enough to "get." Are you white-knuckling your way through issues, trying to keep those sins hidden? Do you find yourself angrier than you have ever been before? Let God set you free once and FOR-ALL. There is Power in the Word of God and that is exactly what this book uses to set your feet upon the solid Rock! Be Delivered - In Jesus' Name!

I've probably been sitting at my computer for about 5 mins. staring at the screen trying to think of how to stress the profoundness of this book and the great urgency of you needing to buy it, read it, reflect on it, joyfully apply it, live it, teach it...repeat!! Awesome...can't wait to read "Through the Looking Glass" based off of Owens "Glory of Christ"... anyways, bring yourself some joy and purchase this book!

This book is a great reality check on the subject of sin and the control it has over you. I would recommend this book for the true seeker of a holy life. This book is not for light reading or for skiming on the subject of sin. The author is honest, gives good application, excellent word pictures and most of all gives you hope for victory. I used this book for an accountability group and it made a life changing impact! I have placed this book as one of my "top ten" in my library.
