Review 2 for A Young Scholar's Guide to Composers
Excellent book for Music History
Date:April 4, 2011
My 12yr dd wanted to study music history so I began my search and found this book at a homeschool convention. I bought it on a whim as it was short and concise looking. I am so pleased to have purchased this book! It has so much information in small snippets. It clearly distinguishes Romantic from Baroque, etc. To my surprise, it is a full hands-on curriculum! My daughter is on cloud nine. The book contains "composer cards" to copy and fill out for each composer; composer portraits to copy and paste to the cards; timeline activities; mapping, etc. It is a great book for the cost. I highly recommend it.
