Group Publishing First Impressions: Creating Wow Experiences in Your Church

Before a service even begins, first-time guests usually decide whether they'll return to your church. This means church leaders need to create no-fail, practical ways to ensure a visitor's first impression is the best impression. When guests feel valued, they will return. And when they do, they'll have the opportunity to experience Jesus' love. Let visitors know "You matter to God, so you matter to us." Author Mark Waltz shares the strategies that work in his church--and takes "greeting" to a whole new level. Adapt these practical ideas to your church's unique setting, and it won't be long before everyone feels welcome.

If you are concerned about learning how your church greeters can be professional (a person who is expert at his or her work) then this is a fantastic book. The church at Corinth would have benefited from this book as would many churches today.

Inspiring Book! Our Pastor picked this up at a Granger Community Church Innovate Conference and after reading it had us order one for everyone on our staff. As we look to moving our "first impressions" experience for new comers to a higher level, the information in this book has been just what we needed! Excellent small and large insights that are all making a HUGE difference in how we as a staff are trying to see with new eyes, that which the first time guest sees! I could not recommend this book more highly!

This book is awesome - it shows the reality of consumerism, even in the day of Jesus, and helps us find the best in people in spite of it.

Avoid this book. It's disgusting presentation of the church as a consumer organization is unbiblical and presents the Church as a business more than the body of Christ. This book would be great for business owners, but not for the Church. Check out "Brothers, We Are Not Professionals" by John Piper.
