"Josh McDowell's Youth Devotions" is a daily, year-long devotional for teenagers. The authors used a tone and examples that teens will probably find engaging and even funny.
Each devotional was one page long, so they're quick to read. For each day, a short reading from the Bible was assigned. You needed to look it up yourself. Then a Bible verse was quoted, often from the assigned reading. Next, the main text was mostly a story or matching game that illustrated a point from that day's reading. A paragraph or two tied the Bible reading and the example together and stated the point clearly. The authors then suggested some things to reflect on and a prayer. They also sometimes suggested an activity that might help put the lesson into practice or remind you of the lesson.
Overall, I thought the points were good ones and that teenagers would be willing to do these devotionals. I'd recommend it.

Great for teens! The Christian worldview is no longer evident in our churches and families. Christian schools are closing all over New England and our children and teens are leaving the faith. Whatever I can do to challenge my child to be like Christ and to stand firm in the faith, I am going to do. Josh McDowell's message challenges thinking.

Considering that it's not supposed to be read all in one sitting ... so far so good. We're enjoying the applications and the Scripture readings.

My son, who is 12 years old, and I love the book! He is getting the most use/value/understanding of his devotional time when he uses it. The book is written so he actually understands what the Bible is talking about in today's situations. He will be getting book two for next year.

I bought this book for a 16-year old niece in hopes of equipping and encouraging her to make wise, Biblical decisions. Josh McDowell is one of the best sources for absolute truth, especially with youth. I would recommend ANYTHING written by him.

I purchased this book as a gift for our 16-year old niece. Josh McDowell is one of, if not the best, source for encouraging teens to make wise decisions based on the absolute truths of Scripture. I would recommend anything with his name on it!

I have been going through this book with my two teen age sons, age 15 and 17, and they both enjoy it very much, it is entertaining and thought provoking at the same time. It opens the door to some discussions about real life issues they face.

I really didn't like this devotional book; there are better ones. Being a typical sixteen-year-old, I like things more interesting, and reading boring stories every day doesn't encourage me to keep doing devotions. Another factor that affects this book is that it came out in 1997. To me, that's a long time ago. It might help if a newer, more updated book was published, but it's just hard to concentrate on the stories in this book.

I have been using this particular devotional as a part of my morning devotions with my just-turned 13 year old. This book has sparked meaningful discussions on the significance and practical applications of Scripture and the importance of maintaining a right relationship with the Lord.

I haven't viewed many youth devotionals, but this is one of the best I've seen. At times it is repetitive, but he definitely gets his point across. I would recommend this for both new and old believers, though the focus is probably on the middle ground. Each devotional is a page, so they aren't terribly long in length. The more mature teens would need to add a little bit. I read them in order rather than going by the dates they supply.
