Jesus is hip these days. Anyone with a spiritual bent recogizes that Jesus is cool. Even world religions respect Jesus as a great inspirational influence upon history. But these admirers have one thing in common. They do not know Jesus as Lord.
Go deeper with your faith. Don't just admire and respect Jesus, but understand Him as God made flesh, crucified for our sins, raised on the third day, and now seated at the right hand of God interceding for us. And He will come back one day for those who know Him as their Lord.

This book is excellent for any high school student who wants to go deeper in their Christian faith. About two-thirds of the book is dedicated to the doctrine of Christ, and a third is about the doctrine of salvation. It is slightly more technical than most books for Christian teenagers, but it is not beyond what the average high school student can understand. It is a reasonable length (~160 pages), and there are "Pause Time" sections every two or three pages that provide good breaking points and help students explore practical applications of biblical truths. Some will disagree with Allison's views on election, but they are presented tastefully, succinctly, biblically, and understandably. As a youth pastor, I have just recommended this book to my students and can't wait for many of them to absorb it.
