I have been a big fan of Jack Cavanaugh. I've read Death Watch and the Great Awakening series. I set Cavanaugh aside and started reading Dekker. I decided to read Jack Cavanaugh again and forgot how amazing of an author he is. Every story I've read of his pulls me into the story and keeps me turning th pages to find out what happens next. Hideous Beauty would make an awesome movie! Can't wait to get ahold of Tartarus and see what happens next! Jack Cavanaugh is 5+ stars! An awesome, awesome author!!

Grant Austin is back in school with a Pulitzer to rub in the face of his High School nemesis Myles Shepherd. Problem is, Myles Shepherd is not really Myles Shepherd and Grant Austin has become the invisible man to everyone he used to know. A hideous beauty. Wondrously alluring. Incredibly evil. Dedicated insidious soldiers from a supernatural realm have infiltrated the American boarders, and their current intent is to kill the President. To top it all off, Austin is himself the tool by which this hideous beauty will accomplish its task. The opener in the Kingdom Wars is a great rollicking suspenseful action thriller full of fascinating, unexpected characters who may or may not be who they appear. Cavanaugh is at his best with Kingdom Wars I. This is a dont-miss-it series! The battle between good and evil has not ended and is only gaining momentum in Cavanaughs dont-blink-cant-put-it-down series opener.

This inspirational thriller will keep you on your toes the whole way through!Grant Austin finally has it all together. His recent bestseller a presidential biography has just won the Pulitzer Prize. Hes just given a successful speech to his high school alma mater, and hes flying high. But things take a turn for the worse when he decides to visit his high school rival, who morphs into an angelic being before his very eyes. Semyazah, a fallen angel, declares that he is the one who has given Grant all of his earthly success, and threatens Grant with the fact that his book contains a veiled threat to the President, warning of his assassination. When Grant awakens from his angelic encounter, groggy and unsure how he got on the classroom floor, he only knows one thing: he has to notify his ex-girlfriend, Christina, a White House assistant. But instead of the welcome he assumed he would get, she brushes him off. With time working against him, Grant does the thing he knows to do best: research. A lead points him to a local university where he meets a professor who changes his whole perspective. Can Grant stop the assassination planned by fallen angels? Or is he destined to become one of them? Cavanaugh keeps the reader on the edge of their seat in the fast-paced thriller. Snappy, sarcastic dialog seems to be the forte of his hero, Grant Austin, and it works for him. Dazzling imagery plus unexpected twists complete this great novel. Recommended!
