Anna5 Stars Out Of 5Great story for familyOctober 5, 2014AnnaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This series is great because it is real, problems are same as we face everyday. And the solution is biblical.
Wonderfully done. My girls love them, and treasure them.
Great alternative for mindless, often scary cartoons.
God bless You all. John 8:31-32 -

Homeschooling6TXAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Paws and TalesMay 19, 2012Homeschooling6TXAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I had all my children watch this DVD, ages 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. Guess what? They all enjoyed it. I don't think it's something my 13 year old would watch over and over and over again but I'm glad as the oldest he joined in.
The verses for kindness referred to are Mathew 18:21-22 and Mathew 6:14. This is the 8th DVD in the series and has two episodes. I like that each episode is about 20-30 minutes. I don't like my children watching hours of television, so when I buy cartoons for the children, I'm always looking for a series with short episodes.
While watching the video I would actually pause it from time to time, so I could talk to the children about the characters, what's going on, how is C.J. feeling in this scene, is God happy with this choice and so forth.
Also included is a Play Song section, this is where the children can 'sing along' with the characters.
You can also print a pdf guide for parents or leaders. This includes:
*The Key Verse for the episode, you can have the child memorize it.
*Story Time~the pdf download has questions you can ask the children about the story.
*Bible Time~this gives you questions to discuss with the children, for instance, the conversation between C.J. and Staci was based on a question Peter, one of Jesus' followers, asked Jesus about forgiving others.
*Extra Time~there is two activity pages, one for each episode for your child to complete.
I found this a good spring-board to get my children thinking. Often times when playing with the neighbors the children will come to me and tell me how someone mistreated them, lied or didn't play the game right. Especially with my 7 year old, I can refer to some of the characters and of course point everything back to our Lord. But the characters gives him something to connect with by seeing how C.J. eventually forgave Hugh and how Staci, owned up to what she did (I don't want to give the ending away by telling what actually happened)
Disclosure:I received this complementary DVD from Tyndale publishers in exchange for my honest review, all opinions are mine.
