I am enjoying this book more than I thought I might. It has helped clarify my reasons for home school. I am finding that my philosophy about home schooling is being challenged and shaped with a more Biblical focus.

This book has had a profound influence on not only my perspective on homeschooling, but on parenting and family. I am so grateful it was recommended to me so early on in our homeschool journey. I highly recommend.

This book is well written...has lots of good information...so much information that I'm still reading it and gathering alot of information for future homeschool years...in the future I will be purchasing more of the clarksons books...

This book contains within it a complete reference of thoughts regarding homeschooling. It places homeschooling education amongst the proper context of first nurturing, then discipling, and then educating your child. There are numerous other sources quoted, from bibliographies of appropriate books for children of all ages to classic parenting books from the turn of the last century. If you are honestly considering homeschooling, you should invest the time in reading this book.

I have been homeschooling my children for 9 years and have found a lot of very encouraging books about homeschooling. This book is by far the best. It begins by making a case for homeschooling in general, then moves to the importance of discipling your children rather than simply teaching them. It gives very practical information on understanding how your child learns and practical methods to use in teaching and discipling your child and making both your home and your family an environment in which your children will learn naturally and will desire to continue learning. It would be an excellent resource for someone new to homeschooling, but it would also be useful for someone who has been homeschooling for a long time. I only wish I had found this book a decade ago.

As a first year homeschooler and parent I found this book to be a great resource. Its very comprehensive, covering pretty much everything for homeschooling. The information is also relative to non-homeschool parents as well who want to enhance their children's learning spiritually & academically. Its about raising children to love God. It is well worth the money. Very well written and organized. I can't say enough about it. I'm so glad it will be part of my personal library for a long time to come.
