From the moment you start reading A hope Undaunted, you'll become like a prisoner of this book! Yeah maybe I'm exaggerating but just a little bit. Because it's such a page turner you'll forget that you have to cook diner or clean the house or study or go to work!!

Even though I haven't read the previous books, I was able to understand what was going on in the O'Connor family, and just by reading this single book I feel as if I've known them all my life. Julie Lessman takes you through a journey where you'll be able to experience the changes in the characters' hearts, minds, and souls.

The spiritual content woven in the story is a key factor to the "success" in the character's lives. Without it you'll feel as if something is missing in the story and in your life.

A Hope Undaunted made me cry a good cry. That is how I know I have thoroughly enjoyed and understood the message of a book. I thought of this book several days after I read it. Thinking back over the main plot, all the characters, and the subplots to how they all weaved together and worked out.

This book is about Katie O'Connor who has her life completely mapped out. From whom she is going to marry to what her career will be. But, Luke "Cluny" McGee (a childhood menace) comes back into her life as her boss of all things. Luke and Katie work together at the Boston Children's Aid Society along with Luke's childhood friends; Parker and Betty. This is where all their lives intertwine. Katie slowly realizes what she wants out this world and what the Lord wants for her are two different things. Can she make the decision she knows her heart wants her to make or should she follow her head? As a very strong opinionated woman in the 1920's that is a decision that proves very hard for Katie to make.

A Hope Undaunted is a book is fast paced and keeps your attention. I didn't want to put it down for a minute and read it straight through from beginning to end. This book truly touched my heart and made me reflect on what a sacrifice Christ made for me. Julie Lessman is a very dynamic author. She has the perfect way of keeping you intrigued. A lot of Christian fiction books are very easy to figure out right from the first chapter but not this book. That is what I like about Julie Lessman's books. Just when I think I have it figured out, I realize I don't. I highly recommend this book. I can't wait for the rest of the books in this series!

This was the very first Julie Lessman book I read as I randomly just happened to be looking for a good Christian romance in our local library. After I began reading this book, I was immediately drawn to it because of the passionate way Julie Lessman writes about romance and God. This quickly became my very favorite book! I soon discovered the Daughter of Boston Series and read it as well. When I came to this book again in the order they were written, I read it again. As each of Julie's books became available about the O'Connor family, I read each of them again in the order written. I recommended to our local library that all of these books be purchased, and also recommended to our local bookstore to purchase as well as a local church library. This is still probably my favorite of all Julie's books, and it's probably because it was the first one I read. I really like Katie, but I especially like Luke! I highly recommend this great book but encourage you to start with The Daughters of Boston in order followed by the Winds of Change series. Keep up the great writing for us, Julie Lessman! God has blessed you with a gift, my friend.

I have read several books by this author, and she doesn't disappoint. Hope Undaunted was a cute and fun story, and you love the characters the more you read it. I found myself saying I will just read one chapter tonight and it was 3AM before I stopped!! It pulls you in and you can't stop reading. I highly recommend this book and any of Julie Lessman's other books also.
