In this hilariously humbling fable about modern church culture, Miller introduces Sam, a misguided minister who feels free to hit the golf course after reading Physician, Heal Thyself: How to Kiss Pastoral Care Goodbye Forever. While poking fun at the "professionalization" of God's work, Miller makes a poignant point: people must be any pastor's top priority! 128 pages, hardcover from B&H.

Calvin Miller weaves together a poorly written story of a pastor who desires to grow his church for all the wrong reasons. The objective of the story is to bring into check the rampant growth of the mega-church movement, but all Miller manages to do is to lovingly create a straw man and then proceed to tear him apart with poorly reasoned and eclectic arguments. While Miller's intent; to draw the American Church out of it's egotistical self-serving ways; is admirable, his way of presenting it leaves much to be desired.
