Calvin Miller weaves together a poorly written story of a pastor who desires to grow his church for all the wrong reasons. The objective of the story is to bring into check the rampant growth of the mega-church movement, but all Miller manages to do is to lovingly create a straw man and then proceed to tear him apart with poorly reasoned and eclectic arguments. While Miller's intent; to draw the American Church out of it's egotistical self-serving ways; is admirable, his way of presenting it leaves much to be desired.
