Crossway Books & Bibles Courage & Compromise, Homestead Series #2
Without much warning, the roof of the Bowers family house caves in during a torrential September rain. Matthew Bowers is away in Lincoln, so Lissa Bowers and her daughter Jolie shepherd the children into the barn for the night. Clear skies greet them the next morning, but the storms are far from over for the family. Mr. Bowers gets arrested, there is trouble between farmers and the railroad, and Jolie is contemplating marriage with Tanner Wells when a handsome widower arrives in town and tests her feelings. Everything comes to a head at a community meeting, and Jolie is the one person who can make peace. Throughout the book, Jolie relies on God's wisdom and guidance as she struggles to understand homestead politics and her own feelings for Tanner.

This book is very well written and geared towards those between the ages of 13 - 19. It is full of suspense, drama and romance.
The underlying theme is that it is imperative that we, as Christians remember to always give thanks to the Lord, no matter what circumstances we might find ourselves in and we must always put our faith in Him.
I would recommend to the teenage crowd.

Great book! I have really enjoyed all of Stephen Bly's books, and this series was my first introduction to his writings. Bly captured my attention with his unusual writing style and dynamic character interactions. I definately recommend his writing to anyone with an open mind and loves unconventional writing. :) enjoy
