I caught Willie and Maylo on a Christian program. Remember watching Eight Is Enough and having a crush on Willie. Got the book and could not put it down. It was very open about their lives growing up as children and young adults. I would recommend this book to teens and young adults who have problems with drugs, sexual abuse, low self-worth. These two people went through many terrible obstacles in their lives, but God! He uses every piece of our testimony to encourage and share with others who are walking in those same areas of their lives. I would certainly recommend this book to all. This would be a great tool for youth ministries to share.

I could not put this book down. God showed me so much about his endless, boundless, uncompromising grace through this book. I absolutely recommend it for anyone.

This book is a wonderful testimony to what God can do even in the most terrible of circumstances. It can be a difficult read in some parts simply because of the depravity of the subject but that very depravity is what shows the love of the Father and Jesus Christ so perfectly. His ability to take what seems unredeemable and redeem it is a testimony of what the love of God is and does. The love that Willie and Maylo have for God is so very apparent as they tell of his work in their lives. Such an encouraging and uplifting story. I recommend it to all.

My daughter was a friend and co-worker of Willie's sister, Kim, so I ordered the book for her birthday as a gift. When the book arrived, I took a peek at the photos in the center and then got caught up in reading the entire book from there. I couldn't put it down, which is unusual for me, since I don't enjoy reading. I loved the straightforward, honest way that Willie and Maylo presented their journey. I praise God that they are walking with the Lord and encouraging others to do so as well. It couldn't have been written better.
