eChristian Inc. Celebration of Discipline - Unabridged Audiobook on MP3

In the twenty years since its publication, Celebration of Discipline has helped over a million seekers discover a richer spiritual life infused with joy, peace, and a deeper understanding of God. For this special twentieth anniversary edition, Richard J. Foster has added an introduction, in which he shares the story of how this beloved and enduring spiritual guidebook came to be. Hailed by many as the best modern book on Christian spirituality, Celebration of Discipline explores the "classic Disciplines," or central spiritual practices, of the Christian faith. Along the way, Foster shows that it is only by and through these practices that the true path to spiritual growth can be found. Unabridged. 7 Hours. 6 CDs. Read by Richard Rohan.

This is the audio version of this Christian spiritual disciplines classic. Reading and audio quality is excellent. I transferred the MP3 files to my MP3 player and they worked perfectly the first time. The disciplines themselves are challenging. Some were reassuring. Some were disciplines I did not want to hear. I put the later in the category of "hard teaching". The author takes great pains to document each concepts with ample Scriptural references, not taken out of contense. So I can't complain he was making this up. I have read comments elsewhere that this book contains "new age" practices. I saw no evidence of this. On the contrary, as noted above, everything presented is well documented in scripture. I can see many applications of the concepts presented in my personal life. I am excited to try them out. This book is one of my top 5 favorites. I rank it with The Celtic Way of Evangelism (George Hunter), Out of the Salt Shaker (Rebecca Pippert) , The Prodigal God, and Counterfeit Gods (Tim Keller). All are good practical guidance on how to live a Christian life and share it with others, not just talk a good story. Well worth buying.
